Project Objectives

  • Create a heritage-inspired livery for the Ligier JS F3, echoing the iconic JS 21, for its Retromobile reveal.

  • Deliver a design that strengthens brand storytelling and draws show-floor attention.

  • Engineer the artwork for fast, accurate vinyl application by the external wrap partner.

Project Scope

Concept & Planning

  • Built a colour palette and sponsor-safe zones; produced a modular vector template for easy scaling.

Design Execution

  • Developed panel-based graphics that respect aero surfaces and minimise stripe distortion.

  • Supplied full-size vector files, colour specs (Pantone + CMYK) and a placement guide for the wrap team.

Production Support

  • Coordinated with the stickering supplier on pre-press checks, seam positioning and material choice.

  • Adjusted artwork live during installation to guarantee flawless alignment.

Results
Debuting at Retromobile, the JS F3 livery drew significant media and fan attention, reinforcing Ligier’s heritage narrative.

Lessons Learned

  • Blending legacy graphics with modern surfaces instantly elevates brand recognition.

  • Early, detailed collaboration with wrap technicians prevents costly reprints.

  • A modular vector approach future-proofs liveries across multiple chassis and championships.
